Hello!
This is my first post on a blog that's been going on in my head for years but has only just made it out of there and into another sort of virtual reality! By way of brief intro, if you've had a scoot around my website you'll see that I'm an artist. It's a fairly recent change for me, with a career background in health and well-being, and is the best work I've ever done! I'm enjoying life so much right now. I sometimes think I should have done this earlier, but everything happens in the right place at the right time, so I have no regrets!
I have a dog named Polly, who will feature on here quite a lot, firstly because she is adorable and you will just love her; and secondly because she has recently been diagnosed with Stage 2 Renal failure and I'm developing a special diet for her. I must stress that I'm not a vet, or a dietitian, but with some nutrition training, some research, and a keen sense of what is right, I have been appalled by the terribly inadequate diets on offer for dogs like Polly, by the leading dog food companies, which are still being produced according to way out-dated research to the detriment of our pets and our wallets.... but more about that later. I'll be posting regular updates on Polly's condition and her progress, all positive hopefully! Just to simplify things for those of you who also need this information, she'll have her own blog. Lucky Polly.
I'm a freelance artist. I work in Great Langdale, in the Lake District, in the summer months running workshops at the National Trust's Sticklebarn tavern (see the What's Happening page on my website for dates and times. I work at home in Gateshead during the winter.
I would love some feedback on my blog, website, anything. Tell me if you like it, tell me if you don't, if it's confusing, has typos, if I should add anything... Just use the contact form, thanks! Back soon!
